Pros: Price, performance, easy to use, features, picture quality, low noise, resolution
Cons: Manual focus not mechanically-linked, slight corner softness of the 14-45mm lens
The Bottom Line: I am very impressed with the Olympus EVOLT E-500 and its kit lens. Not only the camera and the lens are solidly built and feature-rich, they are...

Pros: 40-150 lens is terrific, easy to use, good ergonomics, 2.5" LCD display is great.
Cons: Significant noise at ISO1600, limited selection of lenses
The Bottom Line: If you're considering an entry-level DSLR, you definately need to take a look at the E-500. The 2-lens kit, in particular, offers more value than any other kit out there.

Pros: Value packed. Dust reduction. Digital camera from start. Easy use.
Cons: slow multi shot mode and somewhat soft sharpness. Some may find camera body small.
The Bottom Line: Looking at a Canon Rebel XT or similar, give this Olympus E-500 a try. You might be very surprised how good it is.
