The Mario Brothers are at it again! There are many reasons why this game was a great buy over almost ever other game out there.
Have you ever played the original mario brothers? That was the best out there, and so its no surprise that such a classic has lasted so long. This new version of the game has many mini games inside, and one of the games it features is the original 1985 Mario Brothers for ninetendo. Get back into the 32 old levels, with many new improvements! Yes, it is improved, but not enough to hurt the amazing quality or originality. Some of these minor improvements are, you can walk backwards (to the left of the screen) for a few feet (in real life inches). This makes it better if you missed a mushroom or a star or something important.
But what happens when you beat the original game? There is another, harder new game that plays right into the old levels? Sound amazing? Well it is! Everything is faster, more thrilling and exciting. You play through the same levels which have been made even harder, with faster turtles, those black things with shells (I still haven't figured out what they are) etc.
There are more games too. One is called challenge mode. In this mode, you can chose what level out of the 32 you want to play and there are three objectives you try for. Work over a long time collectively, saving automaticly, and try to master every level. The first objective is you must get over a certain amount of money (points). This amount is different for each level. There are special coins inserted into each level, five of them, and that is the second objective, to successfully find and retrieve all of them. The last objective, which can be the hardest unless you know where to look is the yoshi eggs. These eggs are sprouted from an invisible box in each level and are really hard to find.
There is a race mode for one player with 8 levels where you race the ghost, who gets faster and faster every time you beat him. And there is even a two player mode! There is a toy box where you can look at pictures from the play, or even edit the opening message when you turn on the game! It is really fun. There is even an option in the toy box that helps you find the hidden yoshi's.
There is also a calendar that you can actually write in, and everything is printable. You can win awards, and earn photos in your photo album.
This is a fabulous game and would make a great gift for the holidays!
