Mario Kart: Double Dash is a great game overall. This is another multi player must have game. You can play as your favorite Nintendo characters. And now, you can choose two characters too have in your car. You can switch them off driving and throwing items for whatever they are better at. The tracks are all wacky and different. They all have their special characteristics which make them all fun to play on. Different cars can be used to maximize your racing performance, depending on your “weight”. The multi player is fun because you can play both versus and cooperative. In the cooperative, you have the option of sharing a car racing against other computer players. One player will drive the car and the other can throw items at your opponents. Not only is this game fun in multi-player mode, it is also fun in one player. You can earn the trophies for different races and have the chance to earn new tracks and cars. You can also try to beat your personal records by recording a “ghost” of you and then racing against him. The offset of this game is that often, the new tracks you earn are just the same tracks you had before, accept they are turned backwards. It can be fun to experience it once or twice, but gets old real fast. Each character has their own special item related to the game that they star in. For example, Donkey Kong drops a “super banana” that is twice the size of a normal banana. When hit, it will mess up your opponent and spawn three more bananas. This can add some more technique into the game that we didn’t see in the original Mario Kart. This game is a great multi player game to have if you love the Nintendo theme.
