NHL Breakaway 99 is really good game. What makes this game great is its versatility. It can be a great fast paced arcade style hockey game or it could be a long, but rewarding simulation game.

You have a full selection of teams from the powerhouse Detroit Red Wings to the new Nashville Predators, and even some all-star and national teams thrown in. The trading possibilities are endless you want to put number 99 and Messier back on the Oilers well you can. Practice mode is one the good options on the game you can go one on one with the great one well you can. Season is the pinnacle point of this game from picking coaches to building up prospects it has it all.

The graphics are great but do not thrill. The fans and the announcer are cool but can get repetitive.The music is pretty good though.The controls are customizable.The passing icons make passing and one timers a snap.Plus it is a good 4-player game.
