A great game but not the best choice for this system

Pros: Good game elements, it's fun to actually aim with your hands.
Cons: Poor control scheme, not much replay value.

The bottom line: If want something new for the Wii this is worth a look. But if you have a choice get it for the x-box 360

Call of Duty was fun from the moment I popped it into my Wii. The tutorial is minimal which is a refreshing break from the seemingly standard twenty minutes of boredom that we usually have to endure with most games these days. After the aforementioned training you are immediately thrown onto the battlefield where the action never stops until you reach the end of the level.
One thing that sets Call Of Duty 3 apart from other World War 2 shooters is that you play not just as Americans, but also as Polish, Canadian, and English armies. COD also puts you in control of a wide range of vehicles, including a motorcycle, a tank, and a weird jeep thing with mounted turrets.
While fun, this game is a little frustrating at times. The control scheme is very hard to get used to. Some buttons are hard to press while still maintaining good aim. For example, when firing grenades you need to push the - button on your controller. This isn't a problem if you slowly take aim, but when you try to fire grenades on the fly this can result in smoke grenades bouncing off a wall and impairing the vision of you and your men. Because of these and some other flaws with the controls, the feeling I get from Call of Duty on the Wii is that the designers had the game made, and then decided to come up with some ways to use the Wii remote in new ways.
The core gameplay elements here are fantastic, which is why I'm giving this game four stars. However I have had the oppurtunity to play this game on the X-box 360 and it is a much more enjoyable experience. So if you have the option to get it on a different platform, I would recommend it, especially since the Wii version has no multiplayer element, and the X-box live matches are a blast.
