The only reason to purchase Mario strikers, in my opinion, is for the very intense and exciting multi-player experience. Playing against your friends is great as well as trying to work your way up the on-line ladder system. Getting very good at a game is much more enjoyable when you can prove to everybody that your one of the best players in the world, or at least to be able to have that ideal in your head.
What makes Mario Strikers for the Wii such a great multi-player game aside from the ladder system you ask? The answer lies in its simple to learn but hard to master game-play. A child could have fun playing with the cute characters and easy to learn game-play, but the game also has complexities that would make a pro gamer love it as well.
The two major reasons for this complexity that I am speaking about is the many different ways one can score a goal and the array of different and unique characters one has to chose from. To become good at the game, one must learn all the skills of every character and how to use them most effectively.
One must also assess which way to score on every given play. One can chose from charging up to shoot an array of balls at the goalie, preforming a skill shot that all the minor characters possess, trying to get behind the goalie with some characters deke move, or passing between characters to charge up the ball and let loose a super hard shot.
All in all, the complex nature of the multi-player and robust on-line aspect will make Mario Strikers one of your favorite Wii games.
