The anti - portuguese game.
Pros: Very entertaining. You can spend hours and hours with it. Excellent graphics.
Cons: 245 international, clubs and classic teams, EXEPT recent european Champion League winner... very big "bug".
The bottom line: With a european background, you will be familiarized with 128 european football club teams, exept the portuguese ones. Very addictive for those that really aprecciate and understand the "Beautiful Game".
Full review
Where are the portuguese teams? FC Porto was the real champion of 2003/04 European Champions League. In 2002/03 season they won the European UEFA cup.
In this game you can find around 128 (!!!!!) european teams EXCEPT FC Porto (Incredible!!!), SL Benfica (one of the most memorable teams in europe) and Sporting CP (just the finalist of the UEFA cup of 2004/05). What about club teams from South America and other continents? Well... This is not a "World tour Soccer", but a not completed "European tour Soccer".
Then you have team names like "Highbury"(??) or "Turin J". Please give me a break... These teams are most known as ARSENAL and JUVENTUS.
The game itself is very entertaining with lots of interesting features like the inclusion of classic teams.
I was delighted with Netherlands of 1974 or England of 1966 and others like Brasil and Italy.
The graphis are excellent. Almost "the real thing". You cam hear comments with emotions, and replays like a real tv broadcast.
At the beginning the controls are a little tricky to understand but you can be confortable with it after a while. There are too much buttons and combinations for different moves.
The "Challenge Mode" is a good idea, but limited to certain teams to play against.
Team management is very good. You're be able to change player positions and tactics, before and during a match.
Difficulty levels are reasonable, but the "World Class" and the "Master Class" are completely untouchable from me.
Do you know that there are a "Arnold Schwarzenegger" Stadium in the game? Interesting...
But, you know... this is just another soccer game with reviewed player names. I think that the "989 SPORTS" interpretation of what is "football", is almost good. They must read and watch something more about Eusebio or Figo. Then they can do something perfect.
If you are a real Football "aficcionado" try the Classic teams.
The box come with the UMD disc, and a very helpful instructions manual.
No software bugs, till now.
