Pros: great graphics, adrenaline level is sky high
Cons: somewhat confusing story

Yes, you heard me. For all those thinking that Dino Crisis 2 would be another Resident Evil clone, and not worth your time, are absolutely wrong. This is an action game, and one of the best there is.
The game play is much different from the original. You will no longer find your self-scrounging for bullets, health, card keys, etc. Instead, you practically never are ammo-less, and you'll find yourself blasting dinos more and more, adrenaline pumping with every press of a button. There are only a few simple puzzles, ones that require more action in them than running around with items back and forth.
The items system is very well designed. You can find items on the ground or in certain spaces (usually just health), or use the electronic mall, which uses points you have earned to buy ammo, upgrades to your weapons and armor, and even new weapons. You earn points by killing dinosaurs, which value depends on the threat (ex. kill an allosauras, earn lots, kill a raptor, not very much). You can earn combos by killing many within certain times of each other, and if you kill five or more in one screen without taking any damage, you earn huge bonuses.
The graphics are a pretty big improvement over the first, especially in cinemas. All effects (explosions, bullets, etc.) look spectacular. The dinos are well done, especially the larger ones, where more detail was lavished. The music is decent, but nothing too memorable, but sound effects rocked. From dinosaurs screeching in pain to the tread of a T-Rex, it blows you away.
This time, things change as you control two people, Regina and Dylan. They each are unique, and only certain characters can perform certain actions and equip unique items. The story is much more epic in this one compared to Dino Crisis, but at times can be somewhat confusing. There are many in game mini games (like riding a jeep, blasting Triceratops, which reminded me of the first Jurassic Park arcade game), and the controls are basically the same as DC. Either way you look at it, if you like horror or fast paced action, get this game now!
