Pros: Super Sexy(for lack of a word) Graphics, Stunning Story

The bottom line: Buy this game since it's truly a great game for a system that currently lacks great games. Stunning Graphics, Great Gameplay and witty words will have you playing for months.
This was the first game i bought for the PS3. I have played all of the Ratchet & Clank games, and i saw and heard great things about this game. I am so glad i decided to buy the game since it surpassed all of my expectations, even though I still believe the first game was the best in the series. That still does not mean this is a bad game, no no no, this game is easily one of the better releases for the PS3 and it will surely not disappoint.

Story 8/10
With the other Ratchet and Clank games I frowned upon the storylines, they were hilarious but kinda stupid. But this game has changed all that with a great storyline that is indicative to the past of Ratchet and Clank. This game does not feature many characters from past games, but new characters like Crunk add great dimension to the game. The story and plot is similar to the aspect that the dialogue and quotes are as funny as ever. This game was probably the funniest of them all. While playing the game there are also jokes aimed toward companies such as microsoft, myspace and facebook.

Gameplay 1000000/10
This game really goes overboard on the gameplay, which is always a great thing. First off I would like to talk about the weapons. There are about 50 weapons, all whom possess their own unique powers. My favorites are the Alpha Disruptor, which is a big bazooka missile launcher, The Transmorpher, which is a beam that turns enemies into cute little penguins, Robo Wings let you fly, and the Groovitron, which causes a disco ball to appear making every foe your facing start to boogey down. The Groovitron is simply the best weapon ever. And there are dozens of other quirky and cool devices at your disposal for this game.

There are so many diverse and strange levels in this game. While playing some of the levels reminded me of the Sonic, StarFox and Crash games. In some levels you grind, which is just pure awesomeness, down a various amount of things while dodging enemies and even in some instances trains. Some levels you are located in a ship, and you do battle StarFox style. I love these levels the most since the battling system and shooting style is great during these stages.

Also in this game you have to collect bolts. These bolts are like currency which are used to buy things such as weapons and missiles. Also you have to collect something called Raritanium, which are used too upgrade your weapons, upgrade ammo capacity, your physical strength and etc. The way to collect these things is by killing enemies, the more enemies you kill the more you get since bolts fall out of enemies while you obliterate them. Some weapons also have a rid which shows you where to hit enemies to get the most number of bolts possible, a pretty useful feature since you will rely on bolts for a great part during this game.

People might say this game is easy but I think people whom say that have not really played the game. I admit the game is easier than recent Ratchet games, but it is still pretty challenging. Also in the game you rely on Clank a bit more since he is now more active. You can actually use him on solo duties, Clank has some cool features that lets him fly and slow down enemies. One thing I frown upon is the number of ammo stores, there are in abundant in this game. These are the places you buy your weapon needs, you know the guns ammo, etc. This is pretty bad since you seemingly never run out of ammo, which was a common occurrence for players of the previous games.

Graphics 10000000000000/10
The game runs at 60 frames per second, and at a very high pixel rate. Translated, that means that the graphics are ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT, but its the PS3 so I would not expect anything else. The environmental graphics are my favorite part of th graphics. The environment is so vibrant and colorful, so detailed and infused with a dazzling array of hues, simply genius. I love how Ratchet and Clank look in this game. You can see every detail of them, from the bolts on some weapons, to the hairs on Ratchets face. One downfall is that in one particular level i was grinding, but was awestruck by the landscape and fell of a ledge. So the lesson here is don't get awe struck by the stunning quixotically made graphics. This game has the most beautiful graphics, with exception to heavenly sword, which is another game on the ps3.

Sound 9/10
I simply love the music in this game. All the voice actors are again on spot as they deliver the great voices of the characters we know and love. The voice actors in this game are very emotional which causes a sense of realism even though the game is an utter fantasy, a pleasant duality between the two ideas. The best part of the sound is the dialogue. The remarks of Ratchet kept me in stitches for the entire game. The sound effects for the various levels and weapons is also grand, especially for the groovitron weapon.

Replay Value 8/10
This game is highly addicting. There are many things to do after you finish the game such as finish upgrading your weapons, finding the illusive gold bolts and thoroughly exploring the quirks of the tons of planets to explore.The only thing missing from this games is the fact there is no multiplayer. Even though it might be hard to institute a multiplayer it would have been great to have one, oh well, this game is great nonetheless.

Overall this is currently the best game out right now. I know about Call of Duty and Halo, but this game is that great. get this game is you played any other Ratchet and Clank games, or buy it if you just want a great game that will keep you entertained and laughing throughout.
