Spider-Man 3 has been a huge hit in the theaters!

Pros: The game is still somewhat enjoyable because of the swinging aspect.
Cons: After this I don't think I'll ever pre-order a game again.

The bottom line: For a new system like PS3, graphics and a frame rate this shoddy are ONLY excusable if the game is bargain-priced. I don't care how much "fun" it is anyway!

The severe slowdown/choppiness issues that apparently the PS3 has. I also bought it sight-unseen, and I take issue with Activision's assertion that it follows the movie plot. There have been exactly three movie-related events that I have experienced in five hours of play. Having said that, if you haven't figured it out already, *****GAME SPOILER ALERT BELOW*****

The symbiote gets attached to Peter, though it has nothing to do with the way the same event happened in the movie. Cut to a scene with Harry leaving the gas chamber.

Fight New Goblin - which you actually accept as a mission, draining the element of surprise. And then get bored. Dodge. Dodge. Punch. Punch. Dodge. Dodge. Punch. Punch. Holy crap. Beat him down and eventually have to run him to the hospital.

Mary Jane ends up at the hospital. But it's (again) all wrong from the movie. In the movie, I don't think Peter left the hospital when Mary Jane showed up. In this nonsensical game, you accept *another* mission called the Mary Jane Thrill Ride, where you pick her up at one place and swing around the city at her direction (high, low, fast) and eventually end up at the hospital. Yes, she hitches a ride to see Harry on Spiderman's back.

However, after saying ALL THAT, the game is still somewhat enjoyable because of the swinging aspect. The controls and physics behind the swing are very similar to Spiderman 2 on the original Xbox and PS2. And since the 360 doesn't have the graphical issues (aside from having pretty bad graphics), it works well. If only the rest of the game were as good. I'll still finish it, but then I'll pick up and pop SM2 into the PS3 and play through it again. Way better game, if only because it was the first to use that style of game.
