Going into this, I had but the fondest memories of Time Crisis. From playing in the arcade to playing on my cousin's PS2, it was such a blast. So, like I said, going into this, I wanted this game to be another hit.
I was sadly mistaken.
There is not much good to say about Time Crisis 4 other than the fact that you get to shoot people with the Guncon. That itself was my first real disappointment. The Guncon just feels overall cheap. After that, the disappointments kept piling on. If you're not persuaded yet, let me mention that the cover system is quirky to say the least. My biggest complaint would have to be the lack of a reticule. That was a big mistake on Namco's part. Big mistake.
Now, let's take a look at the graphics and sound. The graphics are lackluster, barely passable at best. The sound, lame just lame.
Let me sum it all up for you: Save your money. If you have a hankering for Time Crisis, go up to the arcade and don't waste your time or money on this lousy sequel.
Here's a little mathematical breakdown if you're numerically inclined. I am assuming that it is one dollar per game at the local arcade and that Time Crisis 4 is around $80.
You can go to the arcade, spend $20, and have a few hours of fun with the classic arcade Time Crisis. Or, you can spend $80 on Time Crisis 4 for the PS3 and have a few hours of low grade gameplay. That is, if you don't break the Guncon in frustration.
