Pros: Original, beautiful, and way too much fun.
Cons: You'll find yourself neglecting all other aspects of your life.
The bottom line: This game is a must own for all Xbox 360 owners. It appeals to both fans of first person shooters, and RPGs, without being a typical FPS or RPG.

Bioshock from Microsoft for the Microsoft Xbox 360 is the best first person shooter game that I have ever played. Considering I have been playing first person games since the original Doom came out in the 90's, that says quite a bit!
As a game, Bioshock has it all. This is definitely not a game where you just run around and shoot everything that moves. While it is true you will want to shoot everything that moves, there is much, much more going on here. Bioshock is as much about letting the story unravel and exploration as it is about killing whatever comes next. It also has a unique power up system using game items called plasmids, Adam, and Eve. While the system is actually very simple in practice, it is a bit too complicated to explain here in a review.
Bioshocks premise is also fantastic. Instead of the regular old moon base, cult compound, or what have you, you are playing in an under water city thats slowly falling apart and springing leaks. The graphics are pure eye candy, with fantastically rendered art deco architecture and designs. The soundtrack is a lot of fun. The voice work is fantastic, which is good because theres a lot of it, and the background music of 30s pop hits works surprisingly well.
Game controls are pretty much the same as all other first person shooters, so if most people will be able to start playing right away, with a very small learning curve.
This is a great game for anyone who owns an Xbox 360. Its one of a handful of games that I consider being a must have for this game system.
