Pros: Tons of Marvel goodness, great multiplayer, replayability value, good achievements.

I'm not really a comic book geek, but there's a part of me that's always wanted to be - and this game feeds that urge to bursting. With a plethora of characters, lots of unlockables, and great multiplayer, this game is a must own, especially at the bargain price it can be purchased for now.

You start off... well, it's not all that important where you start off - while the game does have something of a story line, it's not exactly epic, and it's much more of the thrown together nature... made specifically to get the largest amount of heroes to go fight the largest amount of villains, so you can get the maximum amount of feedage from the proverbial Marvel buffet.

You'll always be fighting on a team of four, whether they be other people or AI. This, admittedly, can be a bit of an annoyance. At least on my end, the AI can get annoying - they have a tendency to crowd you, and can often get in the way.

Multiplayer is a lot of fun. The 360 version of the game makes it easy to host a game and invite your friends. The game supports voice chat, which makes it easy to coordinate with your friends. This is actually an important part of the game, especially because all human players have to be on the same screen, so you will often need to tell your teammates to go this way or that so things will go smoothly.

The RPG elements of character customization are nice, allowing you to level up certain skills and abilities. You're able to use items, but, unfortunately, only one item at once. I currently have Wolverine's coat and Wolverine's mitts, but he can only wear one at a time. Hopefully in the second iteration of the game, they will fix this and add a more robust equipping system.

If you have any affinity for comic books at all, this game is a must own. It's affordable, and will provide many hours of enjoyment. I also see it having high replayability value, what with all the characters available to play. Be sure to purchase the gold version, or check out the downloadable content on the Marketplace, if you want the complete experience.
