The previous review was pretty accurate. I read reviews of epilators and was ready to dish out $80 at target when I passed the clearance section and saw this baby on sale for $30! I was pretty scared seeing as how every review described this method of hair removal as "torture". I definitely did not wait for the hair to grow out, I just went home and got to it.

My first experience was...torture. I showed my boyfriend my new toy and of course he wanted to watch. I plugged it in and gritted my teeth and started. It was probably one of the most painful things I have ever felt. Boyfriend is laughing while I am trying my hardest not to cry. I was doing small strokes working my way from my ankle to my knee. He dared me to do one full swipe from the bottom to the top. Once again I gritted my teeth, pulled the skin tight and did it. It hurt like hell but I figured, I lived through it and the rate I was going it would take days to finish. I continued to use the "full swipe" method and just had to deal with the agony. I finished my calf, worked my way around the knee and then the thigh. The inner thigh is definitely the most painful. I was almost to scared to do the other leg, I waited till the next day to start on it. I once again started in small strokes at the bottom and then began doing the full strokes. This was two weeks ago and I am now proud to say that I have conquered this torture machine. I use it every other day on my legs just to maintain and yesterday I actually did my bikini line, which is something I would not recommend unless you are completely comfortable with doing your legs and are up to experiencing more pain. I even did my boyfriend's back. He screamed the first half and finally just got used to it. He now understands what women go through. The directions also say not to use on eyebrows, it does not say anything about the face in general. I did my jawline, chin, upper lip, and neck without any problem. I would say the face was the least painful area.

As for this particular epilator... It is not cordless which I did not realize when I was buying it. Although they did not skimp on the cord, it is probably 5 or 6 feet long. As for the "ice pack", it is useful for the first experience but have tried to use it since then and it just gets in the way. The extreme cold on your leg almost feels like a slight burn which distracts you from the pain of the hairs ripping out but... the ice melts within minutes. Using the epilator without it I find more comfortable because I am able to feel the "massager" which is kind of nice. It also comes with a body puff and a small bag. The bag is not worth anything, it is too small to fit the epilator and the cord. I would recommend using the body puff though to exfoliate before using. The best thing about the product though is probably the two year warranty. Good companies stand behind their products.

Overall, I would recommend this epilator. From someone who has used creams, gels, nads, sallys stinky whatever, waxing, plucking, threading, etc this is definitely now my favorite method. The first experience will definitely be painful but it is worth it and as long as it is maintained you will not feel that pain again. I would aim to spend around $50, no more.
